Multi award-winning Elvis® performer Marcus Wells specializes in recreating what is often referred to as Elvis®’ most moving performances: his final tour in 1977. Blessed with a voice uncannily similar to Elvis®’, Marcus presents a concert (Spirit of ’77) that is identical in content to Elvis®’ last performances: modernized renditions of his hits from the fifties, a sprinkle of power songs such as “Hurt” and the haunting “Unchained Melody”, Elvis®’ last rocking numbers such as “Way Down” and a variety of Gospel songs which Elvis® adored, namely “How Great Thou Art”. On stage, Marcus endeavors to evoke the same touching persona that Elvis® displayed on his last tour: an imposing physical presence, a sense of fun and comfort with the audience and a certain sense of the inevitability of fate, echoed through a humbled countenance. Since Marcus performs an often-overlooked and very emotional period of Elvis®’ career, Elvis® fans are usually delighted to be able to relive, in a small way, Elvis®’ last public moments and the fun and laughter are often mingled with tears. |
| Marcus is currently touring with Paul Ross as one half of the “Double Trouble” team as they present their complete tribute to Elvis® encompassing the 50's, movie performances, the 68 Special, the early and On Tour years and Elvis®’ 1977 Sundial concerts. Married to Victoria and the father of little Tommy, Marcus feels blessed to have been gifted with a passion for singing and performing and with a great opportunity to come together with Elvis® fans in an homage to a man he admires and loves deeply. |
