Born and raised in
London, Mario's family originally came from Cyprus. Mario was raised in a
very Mediterranean household. Growing up, he first became aware of Elvis®
at 7 or 8 years old. Only 12 when Elvis® died, he felt the impact of the
loss. Following a three year acting and musical theater course studying at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts in SW London, Mario began performing Elvis® numbers in Rock 'n' Roll clubs while pursuing a singing, song-writing and acting career. |
| In 1997, Mario and a partner opened "Central Park," an exciting 200-seat Live Entertainment Restaurant situated in a popular English seaside resort. It was there that Mario performed nightly, working hard to perfect his portrayal of Elvis®. He strongly believes in presenting to his audiences a performance similar to what they would have seen in a real Elvis® show - that perfecting Elvis®' mannerisms alone is not enough - you have to be able to portray the warmth and closeness Elvis® showed his audiences. Along with his amazing likeness to Elvis®, Mario has over 500 songs in his repertoire with 5 separate changes of costume. |

In 1999, Mario decided that the time was right to follow his dream and once more decided to concentrate solely on entertaining and performing on the circuit. He sold his share in the business and started touring with the show throughout the UK and abroad. Appearing nightly in December 1999 for "Brannigans" chain of clubs. His show was such a success that he was asked to give a 17-date repeat performance tour. Mario's appearances have taken him all over the world and have enabled him to share with his audiences the warmth, vocal ability, charm, wit, and closeness likened to his childhood idol, Elvis® Presley. |
